Sight words are words that we frequently see in the English language and are therefore extremely important in learning how to read. The 220 Dolch sight words are separated into lists for preschool through third grade and a list of 95 nouns. Vocabulary word lists for ELA literature. In other words, memorizing these first grade sight words can help young kids keep going and gain momentum as they learn to read. The 6th grade spelling lists include poetry, like Lewis Carrolls Jabberwocky and Longfellows Paul Reveres Ride.
